NYE: Outfit

Now I'm caught up! Day 3 of the "Painting in the New Years" challenge.

The prompt today is NYE Outfit. Originally, I didn't have any plans for New Year's Eve. Then I got an invite to tag along with my friend Dan to his friend's party - and was it AMAZING. Great food, open bar, champagne toast, 2012 noisemakers/hats AND it was a charity event benefitting Trail to a Cure.

My outfit was actually pretty simple - leopard print jeans, a black top and a red cardigan. Which only kind of matched these nails because they feel so glamourous!

I ended up doing nude nails with a gold glitter gradient and two accent nails. My middle finger represents the circle lenses I wore - gray with a black border. On my pointer I did red glitter for my red lipstick with a gold leaf tip to dress it up.
I think got inspired looking at other NYE mani's and added a gold stud to each nail. I seriously LOVE these!

The Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure is my new favorite nude polish! When I bought it I feared it would be way too dark, but it had just the right amount of pink tinge to match my skin.

New Years Eve: Fireworks

Day 2 of the "Painting in the New Year" challenge is fireworks!

After the glitterbomb I did for the countdown, I decided to make these a bit simpler.

Just a simple city sky scape, with red and yellow fireworks. While these nails are okay, I wasn't all that thrilled with them. In my head the idea was much better!

New Year's Eve: Countdown

Happy New Year!

I'm a bit behind, but I'm participating in the "Painting in the New Year" Challenge!

Here's the prompt:

And here are my countdown nails!

On my thumb, I tried to represent the ball dropping with a massive glitter bomb! A base of silver metallic polish was covered with loose medium rectangle silver glitter, then covered with three sizes of silver/holographic glitter.

I started with a black base, followed by 5, 4, 3, 2, in silver micro beads - overlayed with Wet n Wilds Kaleidoscope. Here's a bottle shot for fun!

And finally, I was playing around and decided to matte them ^^ Still super sparkly, just less glossy.
