Neon Splatter

Hello!

So it's official - I LOVE splatter manis! They just look so amazing. Although I had some trouble getting the nail polish to splatter effectively(see middle finger). I added some contrast with a simple polka dotted pointer.

A lot more photos after the break! (Seriously, I took so many photos! I just loooove these nails)

Different Shades of Blue: Handprints

Hello! I'm keeping up with the challenge! :)

I have to apologize for the terrible photo quality. I did these at a friend's house so I didn't have my light box. And my friend's apartment is almost entirely brown...so that's why the background is so weird. Plus my camera battery died after only a couple pictures, so I could play around with better lights.

Nail Party!!

Hello!
So last Friday I have 5 awesome friends come over for a nail party! Four were (South) Korean girls participating in an internship program at my university that I volunteer with. The fifth was Peter, one of the other program ambassadors.

They bought me pizza(thank you thank you thank you!) and while I did nails, played Scrabble. Or, as one girl called it, scramble. :)
Here are the nails, lots more photos after the break!!
Based off a Van Gogh painting

Galaxy-inspired

Neon, glitter, and studs!

Purple tear drops and GLITTER!

A MAN-icure. :) Glitter on the thumb, totally not me. That's what happens when you give a willing "victim" and 4 girls free reign of polish!

More more after the break!

Different Shades of Blue: Fishtails!

Hello! I'm actually on time for this post. :)

These are my second attempt at fishtail nails and I LOVE them. I did these a few weeks ago (hence the lovely longer nails) and totally want to try it again sometime soon!

Different Shades of Blue: Autism Awareness!

Hello!

It's been so long since I've had time to post! Sorry for being MIA - emergency root canal! Thankfully it's all over, and my pain and swelling have finally gone away.

Instead of catching up on my mountain of homework, I decided to blog! :)

So I have the Puzzle Pieces and Blue Ruffian done :) At this point, I'm going to skip the awareness ribbons...not enough time!

Puzzle Pieces

Not that crazy about these....it was so much harder than I though to make it look like real puzzle pieces!

Ruffian:

Here is the plain ruffian - LOVE these nails! The color combo has a nice Fifties vibe and the design was surprisingly simple. :)

Of course, I love glitter and bling so I had to add some sparkle. These are teardrop rhinestones from a set I got at Icing.

Different Shades of Blue: Blue Gradient

Hello!

Time for another Different Shades of Blue challenge post!

Originally I was going to do ombre nails...but I realized I don't have enough blue polish of the same tone in different shades! For some reason, I have very few really light or really dark blue polishes!

Instead I did a gradient!

Here is the "in progress" shot. I just LOVE how smooth the gradient came out, so I popped on a matte top coat and took a few photos :)

But that's nowhere near sparkly enough for me! So I added......glitter!

Base is Salley Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in "Choco-Latte". The pink tones in it make it the perfect nude for me!!
I then did the gradient over that with a makeup sponge using Wet N' Wild "I Need a Refresh-Mint".
To do the glitter gradient, I just used the brush bottle from Forever 21's Love and Beauty "Turquoise".

If you didn't notice yesterday, I've cut all my nails down!! I was getting so tired of the peeling (any suggestions??) and I've noticed a lot less chipping on these than usual!

Nude and Neon Half-Moons

Hello!

The weather has once again gotten dreary, but I'm still thinking of summer!

Strong and sweet, demure and daring - pairing neons with nude is PERFECT. And studs, like glitter, make everything better!

Let me know what you think!

*Some of the colors, as many neons do, did not stay true to color in the photographs. My apologies :(

Different Shades of Blue: Rainbow

Hello!

The Cards game last night was AWESOME! However, we got back at 1am so I'm really glad I had these done ahead of time!

Again, here are the prompts:

At first, I wasn't thrilled with my gradient, but after adding glitter I loved it! It's amazing what a glitter topcoat can do!

St. Louis Cardinals

It's baseball season!!

I usually go to one or two games a year with the program I volunteer for.

Tonight we're going to see the St. Louis Cardinals! My mom's family is mostly from St. Louis, so even though I'm a KC Royals fan, I can appreciate the Cardinal fever :)

Of course, my nails had to match the occasion!

The STL logo, over white and over red/glitter. Plus two baseballs!

On the other hand I did something simpler, white half moons with red glitter!

Let me know what you think in the comments! And what team do you cheer for??

Different Shades of Blue: Blue Flowers

Hello everyone! It's time to kick off the Different Shades of Blue: Autism Awareness challenge!

It's being hosted by Seriously Swatched, who you should totally check out!

Here are my flowers!!

I am fairly "blegh" about these nails....while they were nice, definitely not my favorite flowers. However, I'm super excited about my rainbows for tomorrow!
